Russia and Argentina Signed Over 10 Documents on Cooperation

Over 10 documents have been signed on the outcome of Russian President Dmitriy Medvedev’s visit to Argentina, the Voice of Russia reports. One of them is a protocol on mutual understanding in peaceful using of nuclear power. Russian Rosatom company is ready to be Argentina’s partner in projecting and building atomic power-generating units and to supply fuel to Argentina.

The sides have also signed a deal under which Argentina buys two MI-171E helicopters from Russia. Another cooperation memorandums signed are: in developing the GLONASS global navigational satellite system, in cooperation between councils of entrepreneurs of Russia and Argentina, in the sphere of forestry and railway traffic, a program of cooperation in culture and others.

President Medvedev is visiting Argentina in the framework of his tour on North and South Americas. From Buenos Aires he is going to Brazil where he is to take part in the BRIC summit and hold a number of bilateral meetings.
