The North Caucasus Federal University (NCFU) is promoting local higher education in Iraq, Rossiyskaya Gazeta reports. Representatives of the Russian university held the Festival of Professions in the city of Erbil. More than 1,500 students from local schools, their teachers and parents took part in it. Within the framework of the event, several interactive platforms were organized. Potential students could choose a profession of interest. The event was also dedicated to present the Russian language and mathematics courses.

Children and adults were invited to attend screenings featuring films about Russia and the North Caucasus.

The University Rector Dmitry Bespalov highlighted the university's efforts in promoting domestic education globally. With over 1,500 foreign students from nearly sixty countries studying at NCFU, Bespalov expressed confidence that such events play a crucial role in acquainting them with the vast potential of Russia, its rich history, and diverse culture. He also believes that bilateral cooperation between the universities of our countries will lead to the strengthening of relations between our states.

During his working visit to Erbil, Dmitry Bespalov met with the Minister of Education, Alan Hama Saeed Salih. The discussions centered on collaborating to organize educational programs for Iraqi schoolchildren.
