Applications from 41 countries submitted to Tchaikovsky Competition

Almost 750 applications have been sent to the Tchaikovsky Competition. It was reported by the Minister of Culture Olga Lyubimova in her telegram channel. She wrote that performers from all over the world would soon gather in Moscow to demonstrate their abilities.

Musicians from 41 countries want to participate in the competition. Lyubimova is sure that this indicates its prestige and high demand. 

Most applications came from Russia, China, South Korea, Japan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, the USA and France.

The participants showed the greatest interest in solo singing, Piano and Woodwind instruments categories.

The 17th Tchaikovsky international competition will open on June, 19. Participants of the contest, which is celebrating its 65th anniversary, will perform at venues in Moscow and St. Petersburg. The competition is open to performers between the ages of 16 and 32.

Musicians from Russia and other countries will be able to take part in the creative competition in the Piano, Violin, Cello, Woodwinds, Brass and Solo singing categories.
