Russian-French Volga Marathon summer school opens

Volga Marathon summer school starts working on Tuesday, August 17, according to MTV.online. Students and university professors, aspiring entrepreneurs from the twin cities of Volgograd and Dijon will be joined by guests from the French region of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté. The project is included in the cross-year program of interregional cooperation between two countries.

The goal is to expand ties between Russian and French youth. Common educational interests of young people to the next step for the public diplomacy, organisers hope.

School participants to get acquainted with the culture and traditions of the two states, discuss ideas that will become the basis for future joint projects. The marathon will last until August 27.

It is reported that Volgograd was the first to initiate the sister city movement. Projects such as Volga Dialogue is held here annually. Last spring the Russian-French project Stalingrad 2021was held there. Since the beginning of 2021, the city was visited by representatives of Austria, Iran, India, Uzbekistan, businessmen from many countries of the world.
