Collections of articles about Great Patriotic War issued in foreign languages

The Center for Linguistic Education of the Prosveshcheniye Publishers has published collections of teaching materials in foreign languages. Electronic publications included articles on the exploits of Soviet soldiers on the fields of the Great Patriotic War, selected in the framework of the Symbols of Victory competition, the website of the publishing house reports.

Earlier, the publishing house organized the All-Russian Symbols of Victory contest, which turned out to be large-scale. Teachers and students sent work to the organizing committee in English, German, French, Spanish and Chinese. The most popular among the participants was the English language, about 400 articles were written in it.

The uniqueness of the collections is that the stories are told by the descendants of the war veterans. Participants also paid attention in their texts to significant wartime events, hero cities and the rear, works of prominent writers and poets about the war.

According to the head of the Center Maxim Semichev, the collections will give young people in different countries the opportunity to read about the exploits of heroes and the lives of Soviet people in the war years, and will also become additional materials for distance learning.
