Memory of fighters against fascism honored in different cities of France

Russian compatriots and residents of France honored the memory of the victims of the Great Patriotic War, telegram channel of the Rossotrudnichestvo representative office reports. The memorial events were timed to coincide with the Day of Remembrance and Sorrow, which is set on June, 22, the anniversary of the start of the Great Patriotic War. The memorial service took place in Le Bourget, where flowers were laid at the monument to the pilots of the Normandie-Niemen regiment. They were also held at the Arc de Triomphe and other iconic places in Paris and Montpellier.

In addition, the flower-laying ceremony was held at the historic Pere Lachaise cemetery near the monument, which commemorates the feat of the Russian participants in the resistance movement.

In Rome, Russian compatriots and local residents gathered near the ancient monument - the Altar of Peace. Under the rays of the scorching sun, they spent a moment of silence, paying tribute to the memory of the victims of that terrible war. All participants decorated their clothes with St. George ribbons.

Russian compatriots and local residents also gathered in Berlin's Tiergarten park. At the monument erected on the mass grave to Soviet soldiers who died during the capture of the German capital, they set candles in the form of a five-pointed star and the dates "1941-45". There lie the remains of at least 2,000 soldiers and officers who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the peoples of Europe.
