Exhibition on women during WWII opened in Havana

The exhibition called The Female Face of Victory on the contribution of women to the victory over fascism in the Great Patriotic War, opened at the Cuban Institute of Friendship of Peoples in Havana. The exhibition was organized by Rossotrudnichestvo and the Coordination Council of Compatriots with the support of the Russian Embassy in Cuba, the Rossotrudnichestvo website reports.

The exposition presents twenty photographs of women, who showed heroism during the Great Patriotic War, on the battlefield and in the rear. The exposition opened a series of events in Cuba dedicated to the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

At the opening ceremony, they spoke about the awards presented for the popularization of the Russian language and culture of Russia in Cuba. A concert of Russian and Cuban singers was held as part of the event. They sang together Russian folk and original compositions.

Cubans can learn more about the Great Patriotic War in the Russian Center in Havana, opened in the largest library in Cuba.
