The US authorities have once again refused to issue visas to Russians, RIA Novosti reports. This time, representatives of the Federal Treasury of Russia were not able to come to the States. The delegation was supposed to take part in the conference of the International Institute on Audit Regulation. The forum began on December 3 in Washington.

In addition, the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Oleg Malginov did not receive a visa. He was going to attend the Youth Forum in New York. The embassy of the Russian Federation said that the United States is pursuing a course to disrupt the "most important negotiating formats."

Diplomats recalled that Washington accused Moscow of starting a “visa war”. The embassy called these allegations false attacks, which have no basis. “The Americans again, for the umpteenth time, turned everything upside down,” the diplomatic mission emphasized.

Russkiy Mir reported that eighteen Russian diplomats did not receive American visas. Russia proposed to move the meetings of The United Nations General Assembly First Committee from the United States in 2020. According to Dmitry Polyansky, who holds the post of Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the UN, the First Committee and the UN Disarmament Commission may convene in Austria or Switzerland.

UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres supports the Russian position on the issue of refusal of the United States to issue visas.
