The celebrations dedicated to the anniversary of the liberation of Belgrade have begun on October 19 with a parade of military equipment, TASS reports. The anniversary of the liberation of Serbia and all of Yugoslavia is celebrated on October 20. On this day, 75 years ago, the Belgrade operation ended.

The guest of honor of the parade was the head of the Russian government Dmitry Medvedev, along with Serbian President Alexander Vučić.

The parade takes place at the Bataynitsa military airfield near Belgrade. The number of participants reaches almost two and a half thousand. About a hundred combat vehicles and systems are going to participate in it. Twenty-five helicopters and planes will fly by in the sky.

Spectators will see armored fighting vehicle, destroyers and helicopters, which Moscow provided to Belgrade as military assistance.

Earlier, the Russian prime minister noted that a review of the results of World War II should not be allowed. It is necessary to resist attempts to reduce the role of the Soviet people and the Red Army in the victory over fascist Germany.

The head of the Russian government recalled that the desire to falsify history emerged earlier, but now one was trying to rewrite not individual events, but to change the “historical trend”. “And this is especially unacceptable when it comes to such difficult trials that fell to the lot of humanity in the twentieth century,” the head of government added.

Tomorrow, October 20, a firework will take place in Moscow on Poklonnaya Hill in honor of the liberation of the capital of Serbia.
