The Serbian authorities are going to include the Immortal Regiment action in the state program for celebrating Victory Day, RIA Novosti reports. Minister of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs Zoran Djordjevic recalled that Belgrade included May 9 in the calendar of official holidays. According to him, the state will support the march. He promised that the commemorative action would be held in the capital of Serbia annually. Belgrade will join the Immortal Regiment with friends from all over the world, the minister assures.

Djordjevic called it unacceptable that the presidents of Serbia and Russia were not invited to events in Poland dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the outbreak of World War II, although their contribution to the fight against fascism could not be overestimated.

Note that the Memory of the Winners conference would open on September 25 in Belgrade. Its initiator is the all-Russian public movement Immortal Regiment of Russia. The number of forum participants will exceed one hundred people. The coordinators of the action from more than fifty different countries from around the world are among them. The discussion will focus on perpetuating the memory of those killed in the struggle for freedom from Nazism. Steps aimed at countering attempts to falsify the history of World War II will also be discussed.

Representatives of the Immortal Regiment explained that such a forum outside of Russia would be held for the first time.

The event will bring together leaders and members of the central headquarters of the Immortal Regiment of Russia, as well as members of the international historical and patriotic movement Immortal Regiment. They will be joined by representatives of the Serbian authorities, the city administration and Russian diplomats.
