Russian and German researches jointly publish history textbook

Russia-Germany. Collective Memory Milestones in 18-20 centuries three volume book presentation took place in Moscow on June, 9th, Izvestia Nespaper informs. Standardized teaching aid on the history was issued by the Institute of World History, Russian Academy of Sciences and Contemporary History Institute in Munich. Authors provide common views at the most disputable moments in history.

Training manual is addressed to teachers from both countries. According to co-chairman of the joint commission research supervisor of the Institute of General History, the president of the State Academic University of the Humanities, the doctor of historical sciences and the academician of RAS Alexander Chubaryan this is the first experience like this.

The Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov called this publication “unique”, and its role “going far beyond the frames of bilateral cooperation.”

According to the German historian Horst Möller discussions dedicated to the World War 2 and the Cold War were the most difficult part.

The head of the Institute of World History, Russian Academy of Sciences advised that colleagues from Austria and Poland also are interested in such cooperation.
