More than 800 thousand compatriots returned to Russia under state program in 12 years

More than 800 thousand people returned to Russia under the state program for voluntary resettlement of compatriots in 12 years. 

Ministry of Internal Affairs explained that most of its participants are citizens of neighbouring countries, Federal News Agency reports. However, there are those who return from European countries and overseas. 

Compatriots from Kazakhstan use the program most often. They represent more than a third of all immigrants. More than 19% are citizens of Ukraine, and 12% of people are from Tajikistan. Armenia and Moldova are in top 5 countries as well. In addition, residents of Baltic countries, Germany, Israel and the United States returned to Russia. 

More than 11,000 people settled in Tula region. Novosibirsk, Chelyabinsk, Kaluga, Lipetsk, Voronezh and some other regions are also popular. 

According to experts, the program helps to solve the most important tasks for the state, including social and economic ones. Ministry of Internal Affairs explained that problems with personnel in the regions are being resolved due to relocation of compatriots.
