Over 1,16 million Russians have become participants in the state resettlement program, which has been operating since 2007, the Russian MFA's spokesperson, Maria Zakharova, stated, the website of the Moscow House of Compatriots reports.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is involved in modernizing the program. Maria Zakharova noted that the department advises and informs its participants using social networks, Internet resources and platforms of Russian institutions in foreign countries and the media.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Internal Affairs conduct seminars, teleconferences and other events for Russian compatriots abroad, helping the republics, regions and territories of Russia to present proposals for resettlement to their compatriots.

Every year in November, a round table discussion dedicated to the resettlement program is held at the Russian Consulate General in Bonn.

In three quarters of 2023, the number of migrants from unfriendly Western countries to Russia exceeded 700 people.
