More and more people in the world would like to live in Russia, says Svetlana Anokhina, coordinator of the center for resettlement from NATO countries, EADaily reports. She spoke about this at the "Return to Russia: the potential of compatriots for the development of regions" session, which took place on Wednesday, June, 14, as part of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

Svetlana Anokhina assured that many residents of different countries treat Russia with great love, they would like to live here. These are families with children, Christians. Even in unfriendly countries there are friendly people who want to become part of Russia. In many ways, their decision is influenced by Russia's attitude to traditional values. And the special operation aimed at the denazification of Ukraine has led to the fact that the number of people dreaming of moving to Russia has increased.

The expert noted that several letters are received daily from Britain, Canada, the United States, New Zealand, and Australia. Most of their authors have never been to Russia, but this does not stop them. They unanimously claim that they are afraid to stay in their countries, they are afraid for their children, Svetlana Anokhina noted.

Russia's Deputy Minister of Economic Development Dmitry Volvach believes that there are tens of thousands of such people. And these are European countries, USA, Canada. He is regretful that there are no legal mechanisms for them in Russia. It is necessary to cancel restrictions, to introduce consular escort. Then the flow of people who have decided tocome to Russia will increase.
