Schoolchildren from Bayonne, France came to Pskov. The program of their week-long exchange visit includes acquaintance with educational institutions of the city, visits to museums and sights of Pskov, and participation in traditional Russian crafts workshops, Rossia Internet channel reports.

Russian language teacher from France Lucille Richie said that she has been bringing groups to Russia since 1990s.  She had collaborated earlier with the schools of Saint Petersburg. This time she decided to show genuine Russia to French students. They found everything necessary for immersion in Russian traditions in Pskov.

French group visited a weaving museum, where guests were dressed in old peasant clothes, learned about the history of Russian costume and played Russian games. They also heard Russian songs. The fact that schoolchildren are learning Russian at home as their second language helped the communication. Guests will also learn how to make traditional dumplings and felt boots and will paint Matryoshka dolls.

In addition, an extensive cultural and educational program is scheduled. French will visit Pushkin Hills and take classes at Pskov Pedagogical Complex. Their visit will last a week.
