Russian cinematography is represented by two films at the the 69th Berlin International Film Festival, Profcinema reprots.

Acid by 26-years old actor and first-time director Alexander Gorchilin is a drama about addiction and miscommunication with parents of twenty-something people. The feature has already received Russian Kinotavr award.

The other film is a war drama The Russian Boy directed by Alexander Zolotukhin, the student of A. Sokurov. The Berlinale screening to be a film premiere, it will take place on February, 9. As we reported earlier, the film is focused on the life of a simple village boy, who comes to the front of the World War I. He went blind in his first battle and became a “listener”. This is how they used to call soldiers, who were “listening to the skies”; they used special acoustic horns to detect enemy’s airplanes.

One of the most important film festivals started in German capital on February, 7. The jury is headed by Juliette Binoche.

Note, last year Profile horror thriller produced by Timur Bekmambetov received the Audience Choice Award.
