Education Export program will double quantity of students

According to Deputy Minister of Education and Science Grigory Trubnikov, number of foreign students, which study in Russia within the Education Export project, will be doubled, Rossiyskoe obrazovanie website informs. 

He said that more than 200 thousand students study at Russian universities within this project today. Most active participants are the citizens of Kazakhstan, China, and Uzbekistan. CIS and BRICS countries are also well represented. 

Deputy Minister noted that it is necessary to bring the number of students to 425 thousand, and to increase their motivation by developing the researching infrastructure. 

As Russkiy Mir reported, one of the major objectives of the Education Export project is the popularization of Russian education abroad. It started in spring of 2016. The project will last for several years and finish in the autumn of 2025. The number of foreign students is expected to increase more than three times: from 220 to 710 thousand people. The number of student who study online should also rise from 1 million to 3.5 million people.
