The Estonian Russian Theater has celebrated its anniversary, Sputnik reports. This year, its artistic group turns 70 years old. In honor of the date, the actors have prepared a great performance. It has been divided into seven parts, by the number of decades the theater has existed. Each part contained stories about performances and actors, and about time, which was not only the background for a theatrical play but also an active performer itself.

Friends, colleagues from other theaters and Estonian officials came to congratulate the theater. The first of them was Estonian Prime-Minister Jüri Ratas. He reminded that this year Estonia was also celebrating the centenary anniversary of statehood. According to the Ratas, it was very important that the theater focused attention on the relations between the two communities - Russian-speaking and Estonian-speaking. On this stage, they speak one common language - the language of art.

The Prime Minister thanked the theater staff for its contribution to the development of the country.

The head of the Russian diplomatic mission in Tallinn, Alexander Petrov also congratulated the theater. The ambassador stressed that despite all the difficulties and crises in the international arena, relations between the two countries in the cultural sphere had always remained at a high level. It proves once again that the two nations still have interest for each other’s art and culture.

In his opinion, the popularity of the Russian Theater in Estonia has already surpassed the borders of the country. The diplomat also conveyed two congratulations to the heroes of the day. One of them came from the Russia’s Minister of Culture Vladimir Medinsky, the other - from Special Presidential Envoy for International and Cultural Cooperation, Mikhail Shvydkoy.
