The current Head of the Turkish State Recep Tayyip Erdogan won presidential elections held this weekend in Turkey. After reviewing 98% of the bulletins, it became clear that he received more than 52 percent of the votes, RIA Novosti informs.

Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated him over re-election for a new presidential term. Russian leader confirmed readiness to continue a constructive dialogue and tight joint work with his counterpart. He has also noted that it meets interests of the safety in the region.

Parliamentary elections held last Sunday was won by the ruling Justice and Development Party with a bit more than 42% of the votes. 11% was gained by the National Movement Party. Thus, the People’s Alliance joining the two parties will get more than a half of all the seats in the Parliament of the country.

Erdogan is to become the first Turkish leader after shift to the presidency system. This system is to be finally confirmed after these elections.

Turkish experts believe that after Erdogan’s re-election development of the relations with Russia will not be deferred. According to the Professor from TOBB University in Ankara Togrul Ismail, Erdogan in his presentations has made it clear that the West is trying to exert pressure on strong leaders, such as himself and Vladimir Putin. Ismail called this comparison deserving some interest. He explained that President of Turkey compared himself with the foreign political leader for their first time ever. This proves that the relations with Russia and Putin are to continue.
