The gala ceremony of opening the Crimea’s bridge is scheduled for today, May 15, TASS reports. Russia’s President Vladimir Putin is going to take part in the ceremony. He will be shown the operations of the Unified Center of Road Traffic Management and all exploitation services. Workers, engineers, managers of the industry from regions are to join the Head of the State. They all resolved the set task 6 months before the due time.

The column of the building machinery is to march along the road. The traffic capacity of the new road reaches 36 000 cars per day. At this, Russian specialists considered the value of the region while constructing the road and minimized the harmful effect on the environment and the archaeological heritage.

The traffic will be launched on Wednesday, on May 16 at 5:30 a.m. Moscow time. The first to go will be people living in Crimea and Kuban. The cars will go from both sides simultaneously – both traffic lines will be opened. Maximum allowed speed will amount to 90 km. per hour. The entrance to the Crimean Bridge from the Taman and Kerch Peninsulas will be opened an hour before the traffic launch.

The traffic on the road is to be organized in several stages. The first stage stipulates traffic right after the launch of the Bridge – the entrance is to be allowed for passenger cars and buses only. However, trucks will have to reach the Peninsula by their usual route – by the ferry service.
