Inauguration of Vladimir Putin for President of Russian Federation

The Grand Kremlin Palace is hosting the ceremony of inauguration of Vladimir Putin for the RF President. The President was re-elected for a new presidential term this March with a record count of votes. He was supported by over 56 million people. 


This inauguration ceremony is the seventh in the modern Russia’s history. According to the established tradition, it takes place in the ceremonial residence of the state's leader, the Grand Kremlin Palace. Among guests of the ceremony are members of the government, the State Duma and the Federation Council, management of the President's Administration,  judges of the Constitutional Court and members of the Diplomatic Corps.  

Immediately after the ceremony the government will resign, the members will automatically receive the title acting and will continue doing their jobs.     

Earlier, while meeting with Ministers the President of Russia Vladimir Putin thanked them for their work, RIA News reports. He said that all the six years that had passed under the current government were very intense. They were full of challenges and extraordinary events happening both in Russia and abroad.    

Vladimir Putin noted that the government had required strength and consistency, which they had demonstrated while also taking responsibility for their decisions and implementing them accordingly.    

"The Cabinet has been working reasonably, like a real team and the credit for this belongs to Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev", stressed the President. He also mentioned that the Cabinet had helped to cope with decline in the economics thus promoting growth in many industries. 

The top priority for the government in the years to come will be increase in the people's welfare. There is a good basis for it. The economics has become more stable, it has managed to overcome the drop in oil price and the sanctions' pressure, as well as the fluctuation of the global environment, added the President.
