Montpellier hosts exhibition dedicated to the Battle of Stalingrad

Exhibition dedicated to the Battle of Stalingrad has been launched at the administration of Montpellier, France, according to All Switzerland spread before the eyes’ website. The exhibition is organized by the city authorities with support from Volgograd administration. The exhibition is a tribute to the memory of the heroic battle, which was a turning point in the course of WW2.

Among exhibited items are historical photographs of the battle lasting for 19 months. The exposition was replenished by local documents, including a leaflet of 1942 published by the prisoners of Montpellier. The exhibition will be opened until May 25.

Note that this year is the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Stalingrad. The anniversary was celebrated at the state level.

The Stalingrad combat operation of the Soviet troops under the code name of Uranium started on November 19, 1942. The group of German troops centered in Stalingrad and its surroundings were defeated by February 2 of 1942. Almost 100 000 Germans including the Commander of the 6th Army Field Marshal Paulus surrendered.
