A visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Turkey starts today, on April 3, TASS reports. The agenda is very busy. It will last for two days.

The talks with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan are scheduled for today.

The heads of state will take part in the video conference on the beginning of the construction works at Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant. Presidents will address the project participants with a greeting message and will give an order for the concrete running into the basement of the power station.

In the course of the bilateral talks, Vladimir Putin and Recep Erdogan would discuss topical issues for the both countries together with regional and international issues including the situation in Syria. An important question to be discussed is military technical equipment, in particular, deliverance of Russian S-400 surface-to-air missile systems.

Besides, three-party negotiations on the situation in Syria will be held tomorrow in Ankara, President of Iran Hassan Rouhani is going to join the two leaders.

Vladimir Putin and other Russian delegates are going to participate in the 7th top session of the Cooperation Council. One of the main questions will be economic cooperation, much attention is to be paid to the countries’ interaction in the energetic sector. Currently, a major part of permissions has been obtained for constructing the gas pipe system Turkish Flow. Agriculture is of great importance too.

Turkey regained the title of the most popular vacation destination for the Russians. Around 5 million people from Russia spent their vacations in Turkey in 2017, which hit the record of 2014. Moscow and Ankara are discussing preparation for 2019 – the Cross Year of Culture and Tourism.
