The first group of the Paralympic athletes from Russia has been accommodated in the Olympic village, TASS reports. According to the First Vice-President of the National Paralympic Committee Pavel Rozhkov, the sportsmen were warmly welcomed in PyeongChang.

He has mentioned that he talks to the sportsmen every day and they have no complaints so far. The attitude towards them is the same as towards other sportsmen and the conditions are the same as well. The nutrition is standard, it is warm in their rooms, so there are no problems with accommodation.

Paralympic athletes have started training. The second group of sportsmen should arrive at South Korea soon.

Note that the Russian delegation comprises 29 athletes and 5 assistants to visually impaired athletes. All the rest are their attendants and officials.

Russians plan to perform in such disciplines as alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, snowboarding and wheelchair curling.

At the end of January, the International Paralympic Committee prolonged the ban of Russian Paralympic Committee having allowed Russian sportsmen to perform. Around 30 people were admitted. They will compete in the status of neutral athletes under the Paralympic flag. Moreover, the fans are not allowed to have Russian flag at the tribunes.
