Vyacheslav Nikonov: US President ready for dialogue with Russia, but American establishment protests

15.11.2017

Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Education and Science Vyacheslav Nikonov has expressed opinion on air of the radio station Komsomolsk Pravda that US President Donald Trump is ready for a dialogue with Moscow, Parliament newspaper reports.

In my opinion, Trump is honest when he says that US can and should have good relations with Russian President. However, majority of the political establishment disagrees and it will not allow two parties come closer, Nikonov believes.

Chairman of the directors’ board of the Russkiy Mir Foundation has noted that the meeting of two leaders at OPEC summit in Da Nang proved that American president is ready to collaborate and discuss key questions of the world politics with Vladimir Putin. However, American establishment, in opinion of Vyacheslav Nikonov, will not let US and Russia become partners and anti-Russian politics will continue.

The deputy has claimed that Donald Trump, in fact, is condemned that he does not demonize Vladimir Putin. Majority of American mass media are busy with demonizing him, Nikonov claimed.

It is worth reminding that the heads of Russia and USA have made mutual statement about readiness to fight terrorism and the Islamic State banned in Russia.
