Negotiations of the presidents of the two leading world powers lasted almost an hour and a half. They spoke about the development of bilateral relations. Putin and Trump touched on the situation in the international arena, the issues of Syria, Venezuela, Ukraine and Iran. They agreed on the need to continue negotiations on a modern model of arms control.
From the Russian side, Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov, Assistant Yuri Ushakov, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Anton Siluanov attended the meeting.
According to Putin, a meeting with his colleague from overseas gives them the opportunity to continue the discussion that began in Helsinki.
