As per Russian Foreign Ministry, such crimes are committed systematically. The ministry believes that the reason for that is indifferent attitude of the official government of Warsaw to such cases. Russia has urged to eliminate aftermath of these crimes and restore the memorials, find and punish the criminals.

“Russian-Polish agreements in the field of memorials, norms of universal human morals, claims for the status of civilized state call for such actions, the ministry comments.

It is worth reminding that the day before vandals desecrated the memorial cemetery in Warsaw. Offensive inscriptions appeared at the monuments there.

A bronze plate set at the concrete base in front of the memorial to the fallen soldiers liberating Poland from Fascist invaders was barbarically broken at night to September 11 in Polish city of Sosnowiec. The names, surnames and titles of the buried soldiers were engraved on the plate. An insult to the memory of Soviet Army officers happened in Olshtyn city too.

As per Russkiy Mir Foundation website, on 22nd of July the Polish parliament approved of the amendments to the law about de-communization, which implies pulling down several hundreds of memorials allegedly praising the Soviet regime.

All monuments will be liquidated within a year. Overall, there are about five hundred objects under question and a half of them is devoted to the Red Army.
