Vladimir Putin: every country is a potential goal of terrorist attacks

05.04.2017

Terrorist attacks may happen in almost every CIS country, Russian president Vladimir Putin believes. He made this statement during the presentation at the meeting for leaders of security forces and intelligence services from CIS countries held today in Moscow, as per official website of the Kremlin.

Putin has remarked that the situation in this regard has not changed for the better in time and the terrorist attack which happened a few days ago in St. Petersburg proves this. “We know that each of our countries is a possible potential goal for terrorist attacks,” Putin stated.

Besides, Russian leader has noted that there are other threats as dangerous as terrorism including organized crimes, drug traffic, corruption and external influence on the political situation within the country. According to Russian President, national security services of different countries should reinforce interaction and collaboration for combating international terrorism.

Russian president has emphasized that only seamless interaction and information exchange would help withstand modern challenges on the CIS territory.

President has remarked that this meeting might be called a certain jubilee as the collaboration agreement between security services of CIS was signed exactly twenty-five years ago. Since then this partnership has obtained a stable and profitable character and have not lost its significance.
