Over five years, more than 80 ROC parishes were created in Southeast Asia

More than 80 parishes of the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC) have opened in the countries of Southeast Asia during the five years of the existence of the Patriarchal Exarchate in this region, which was formed at the end of 2018 by the decision of the Holy Synod, the telegram channel of the exarchate reports.

Priests of the ROC provide care for tens of thousands of Orthodox believers in 13 states and four dioceses: Singapore, Korea, Thailand and the Philippines-Vietnamese.

Dioceses exist in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, East Timor and Papua New Guinea, North and South Korea, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, the Philippines and Vietnam.

In five years, 83 parishes were opened with 72 clergymen in total. In addition to services in churches and other church activities, the Patriarchal Exarchate of Southeast Asia is engaged in charitable and social work, implements educational programs, and organizes training in Sunday schools for children and adults.
