The Exarchate of the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC) in Africa helps the residents of Tanzania with the provision of drinking water. A well is being drilled, thanks to which the population will receive clean water. Drilling is taking place at the construction site of the Orthodox Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, Metropolitan Leonid of Klin, head of the Exarchate of the Russian Orthodox Church in Africa, said in his telegram channel.

Last year, the exarchate of the Moscow Patriarchate helped the population of the village of Sokoin, who were deprived of a source of water by the Greek Church of Alexandria. This step was taken by the Greek Church after the Tanzanian community joined the ROC.

The ROC regularly provides assistance to residents of countries affected by natural disasters. Last summer, the Church donated food packages and basic necessities to hundreds of families in Malawi who survived a tropical cyclone.
