A children's charity center will soon appear in Kenya. Its construction is being carried out by the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa, Metropolitan Leonid reports in his telegram channel. The project is being implemented with the assistance of the Children's Rights Commissioner Maria Lvova-Belova and with the participation of the Country for Children charity foundation.

The head of the center is the rector of the parish of St. Nektarios in Vihiga district, priest Nikanor Shilesi. The priest and other teachers feed the children and teach them on weekends and holidays. There are more than 40 children and adolescents aged 3 to 17 years from low-income families and orphans in their care.

The exarchate of the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC) in Africa did a lot of work in Kenya. With the support of donors, the exarchate was able to pay all or part of the school fees for 47 young Kenyans. Two orphanages receive assistance from the exarchate in the development of communal and economic infrastructure.

More than 900 Orthodox Kenyans attended lectures by the Russian missionary. Three young people from Kenya are studying in Russian seminaries, and another 10 people are preparing for admission. Priests from Kenya are en masse studying online courses at the Moscow Theological Academy.
