Czech artist Josef Mirzejovsky presented the Russian Embassy in the Czech Republic with a painting depicting Marshal of the Soviet Union Ivan Konev. The painting was presented as a sign that many Czechs remember the feat of Soviet soldiers who liberated the country from the Nazis, TASS reported.

The gift was made on the eve of the Soviet marshal's birthday during a meeting between the artist and Russian ambassador Alexander Zmeevsky. The painting given to the Russian Embassy depicts the Prague monument to Ivan Konev, which was dismantled three years ago. The painting was created in memory of the Soviet marshal who commanded the troops that liberated Prague.

The artist offered the painting as a symbol of Czechs preserving the memory and gratitude towards Ivan Konev and Soviet soldiers for their heroic deeds. The diplomatic mission expressed appreciation for the artwork, acknowledging its reflection of the shared history of the Soviet and Czech peoples in the fight against the Nazis.
