Exhibition of works by contemporary Russian artists opened in Turkey

The exposition of contemporary Russian artists has kicked off in the exhibition hall of the Cumhuriyet newspaper. The opening ceremony gathered more than 100 participants, it was attended by cultural figures of the Turkish capital and representatives of foreign countries, the Russian House in Ankara telegram channel reports.

The exhibition will work until mid-September. The head of the Russian House in Ankara, Alexander Sotnichenko, thanked the Turkish newspaper for cooperation with the Russian House and spoke about the Russian artists who brought their paintings to Ankara.

According to Sotnichenko, the priority of the activities of the Russian cultural center is to familiarize the people of Turkey with the culture of Russia. The head of the Cumhuriyet Foundation, Yshyk Kansu, highly appreciated the interaction between the two countries and announced the continuation of friendship with the Russian House.

In August, a meeting dedicated to the 130th anniversary of the Tretyakov Gallery was held at the Russian Center in Istanbul. Russian and Turkish participants were told about the history of the gallery and Russian painting.
