The heads of the academies of sciences of a number of countries refuse to cooperate with Russian scientists, citing political reasons for such decisions. This was stated by the President of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) Alexander Sergeev, TASS reports.

According to Sergeev, the heads of the academies of sciences of some countries avoid contacts with Russian scientific organizations, refuse to discuss professional issues, cancel planned meetings and projects. Foreign scientists explain this behavior by the fact that the RAS is also part of the political field, and they are forbidden to contact the academy.

The relations with scientific associations from Germany, France and the United States have been frozen, Sergeev stated. Also, according to the head of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the discussion of scientific projects with Chinese colleagues has been suspended.
