Russian universities start admission for foreigners in September

Rossotrudnichestvo has set the date of September, 1 for Russian universities’ admission for foreigners, Sputnik reports. It will run until November 1 and will be marked by several changes.

In particular, the number of quotas, issued by Rossotrudnichestvo, will increase another time. There are 18 thousand of students from abroad this academic year, which is 3 thousand more than the last one. It is planned to reach number 23 thousand number next year.

Quotas for studying in Russia are distributed among 175 countries. Applications are mainly submitted from those countries that have strong political and economic ties with Russia. Students from the CIS countries can take advantage of other opportunities to study in Russia. 

Currently, at least 270 thousand students from abroad study at Russian universities. Education in Russia for Foreigners website has all the updated information on this topic. 

Russia also plans to introduce another form of admission of students from abroad in a grant form, which might be issued in a short time. Student grants will cover not only study costs but also transportation. This initiative is going to attract to Russia the most prepared and talented students with high motivation to study.
