Roundup of Olympic gold medals: Zaur Uguyev brought 16th gold medal to Russia

Another Russian athlete has become an Olympic champion today, August 5, RIA Novosti reports.  Zaur Uguyev climbed to the top of the podium, becoming the gold winner in freestyle wrestling in the weight category up to 57 kilograms.

He defeated his Indian rival Kumar Ravi in the final game. The bronze took Nurislam Sanaev from Kazakhstan and Thomas Gilman from US.

Uguyev's gold medal became the 16th for our country. In total, Russian athletes have won 57 awards. There are 21 silver and 20 bronze medals, in addition to gold. Russia is on the fifth place in the medal standing.

On the same day, Russian boxer Albert Batyrgaziev also won gold medal in Tokyo Olympics.
