Russian gymnasts won all gold at the first Junior World Championship

Representatives of Russian national rhythmic gymnastics team won eight gold medals at the first World Junior Championships. The championship was held in the new Irina Viner-Usmanova Moscow Palace of Gymnastics, athletes from 62 countries became the participants of the championship, TASS reports.

186 young gymnasts competed in team competitions, and 137 participated in individual programs. In all eight disciplines, Russians were stronger than their rivals and retained the lead in the medal standings. Italians won five silver medals and took the second place.

The championship star was Lala Kramarenko, who rose to the highest step of the pedestal all three days. According to sports experts, she will be able to go to the Olympic Games in Tokyo in a year. Mentor of the Russian team Irina Viner-Usmanova is also convinced that juniors compete with athletes from the main team already.

According to Kramarenko, it was originally planned that she would perform in only one discipline, but Irina Viner-Usmanova saw the potential for participating in several exercises. And the gymnast did not disappoint her.
