Russian cartoon wins prize of international festival in Annecy

Andrei Khrzhanovsky's cartoon The Nose, or the Conspiracy of the Wrong received the prize of the jury of the international animation festival in Annecy (France), RIA Novosti reports.

This year the festival, considered one of the largest and most respected in the world, is being held for the first time online. Russia was represented by two films in the main competition. The film of the classic of Russian animation was awarded the jury prize. The cartoon was based on the story of Nikolai Gogol and the opera of Dmitry Shostakovich.

Russkiy Mir reported that the competition program included films by Russian studios and joint projects. The opportunity to present their films to an international audience was given to young animators.
