Specialists of the two Russian departments are starting to develop universal requirements for citizens of foreign countries who are willing to confirm the status of native Russian speakers. The Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Education are participating in the preparation of a draft law, the Parliamentary Newspaper reports.
The amendments will be made to the law on Russian citizenship.
At the moment there is no single approach to testing. There will be established requirements for the level of knowledge, uniform criteria for assessing this level, the procedure for developing, using and storing test measurement materials used during the commission’s interview with foreigners.
A member of the Federation Council, Lyudmila Bokova, previously underlined the importance of a unified procedure for conducting a comprehensive exam for foreigners when they received documents in Russia.
