A mine of 120 mm caliber was launched into the Russian Embassy’s building in Damascus. The building has been severely damaged. Fortunately, there were no casualties. The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has disapproved this “prank of terrorists”. The corresponding statement was published at the website of the Ministry.

Russian diplomats called the international community for commenting these terrorist actions and criticizing those “making terrorists assaults against diplomatic representation offices, constructions of the cult and humanitarian missions”.

Pranks of terrorists against Russia and civil population in Syria continue. Non-governmental delegation have been recently attacked in the Old City when the people had to be urgently evacuated. Russian humanitarian help outlets were subject to shooting by the terrorists on Monday. Currently the situation in the city is rather tense.

The Russian Embassy has added that more than 10 people fell victims of the shelling in Damascus over the last two days.
