Russian and Chinese scientists will work together on Arctic projects

ArcticsScientists from Russia and China to start collaboration in shipbuilding industry, TASS reports. They plan to start working over new technologies meant for Arctic research activities. The agreement on this subject was signed between Saint Petersburg State Marine Technical University and China Research Shipbuilding Center.

According to the vice-principal of the higher educational institution Kirill Rozhdestvensky, the scope of topics for joint research works will be really wide. The projects will be implemented at the expense of contracts and requests from national research foundations of both countries. Universities will work over the cooperation programme of BRICS countries.

The agreement covers exchanges of scientists, students and teachers, bilateral scientific forums and exchange of scientific – technical information.

The university is connected by a memorandum of collaboration with administration of Ocean Science City project implemented in Zhoushan, China, known as one of the largest centers of innovational and economic development of China. The memorandum opens new perspectives for joint innovational scientific and educational activity in the field of shipbuilding industry, marine equipment as well as sources of renewable energy and materials.
