Russian scientists have created a nutrient liquid in order to grow crops outside the soil, in special artificial complexes - in hydroponic installations, Expert reports. It is noted that the solution, which surpasses foreign analogues in key indicators, makes it possible to grow fruits, vegetables and herbs even in extreme climatic conditions.

The development belongs to ecologists of the Mendeleev Russian University of Chemical Technology. They used another project of theirs in research - to create technology for the reclamation of polluted lands. Initially, scientists wanted to ensure that plants actively draw heavy metals from contaminated soils. As a result, a solution was developed that gives a good increase in biomass in agricultural plants in comparison with a foreign analogue of the nutrient.

Scientists intend to modify the solution for various crops and patent it. Manufacturers in the Arctic region, restaurateurs and other specialists have already showed their interest in the liquid.
