Civil Projects that Conquered the World discussed at 19th World Festival of Youth and Students

Vladimir Smirnov/TASSProjects changing the world became the main topic of panel discussion Civil Projects that Conquered the World. It was held at the 19th World Festival of Youth and Students in Sochi, TASS informs.

Vladimir Kumov talked about his project launched seven years ago. It is called Going to Office by Bike. Traffic jams in Moscow motivated him for initiation of this project and choosing a bike as an alternative to them. Already seventy cities joint the project and Moscow became a more comfortable place for bike riders.

Dance4life project’s initiator Evelin Enderkerk considers that the most important thing is to do what you believe in. Dance4life comprises more than a million people including young people from Russia. The youth movement attracts people’s attention to problems of HIV and AIDS through a dance. Its participants dance to the same tune at the streets.

Biker, diver and general director of non-commercial organization Children’s Hospice Alexander Tkachenko has stressed out that the work of this organization is based on talks about life. He has underlined that people working in Hospice should be highly motivated and be ready to go with the sick children and their parents until the end.

The Russkiy Mir Foundation is a partner of the 19th World Festival of Youth and Students’ administration helping to attract foreign participants. Almost two hundred young people from ex-Soviet countries and non-CIS states could come to Russia for the festival thanks to the support of the Russkiy Mir Foundation.
