04.08.2017

culture.ruMore than fifty participants of the coming 7th Moscow International Biennale of Contemporary Art are coming from 25 countries. Seventh Moscow Biennale will open on September, 19, Ministry of Culture portal reports. It will last for four months.

The main art project  Art Clouds ⇄ Forests will take place in New Tretyakov Gallery. As per organisers, this project focuses on a "new eco-system formed through a circulation of "Cloud Tribes", who were born on the Internet cloud space, and "Forest Tribes" who are born on cultural origins."

The works of the Main Project will be displayed next to the works of the permanent exhibition of The State Tretyakov Gallery to create a dialogue between contemporary and the past.

The curator of the 7th Moscow Biennale is Yuko Hasegawa, Artistic Director of the Tokio Museum of Contemporary Art, and Professor of Tokyo University of the Arts. The festival organizer is Julia Muzukantskaya, who has expressed satisfaction that from this year all the decisions on creative part are delegated to the new expert advisory board, consisting of the leading museums directors, high-rank curators, and Non-profit representatives.

In particular, Hermitage Musem director Mikhail Piotrovsky, Tretyakov Museum director Zelphira Tregubova, Multimedia Museum director Olga Sviblova and other world-respected professionals are in the board.

As per organizers, 7th Moscow International Biennale aims to show the pieces of art accessible for any viewer. The Russian capital's best museums participate in this project because contemporary art is an important part of the cultural life.
