Russian IT- specialists created a unified programming language RCML (Robot Control Meta Language), which can be applied to all types of robots despite their country of origin, design and functions, according to TASS. The head of Robot Control Technologies, the company where the language was developed, Dmitrii Sutormin underlined that the major achievement is that this language can help founding robots’ cooperation. The experts say that they have been searching for a similar solution for two decades already. They believe that the new language could make a true revolution in robotics.

Currently there are more than a thousand of different programming languages and robot producers use them at their discretion. The difference in languages makes the interaction between them impossible. Dmitrii Sutormin is sure that Russia can take the lead in software development for various types of robots with the help of this language.

This initiative won the competition between start-ups. The final part of competition took place the previous day in Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University.

As a winner, Robot Control Technologies signed a collaboration agreement with the university and is going to take part in the project «Factory of the Future», which is organized as a part of National Technological Initiative.
