Moscow hosts finals of International Collegiate Programming Contest

The final round of the  International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) started on Friday, October 1, in Moscow, TASS reports. 

More than 350 IT speacialists from 42 countries are taking part in the competition, the number of teams exceeds 100. The tournament will take place at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT). It is supported by the Ministry of Digital Development, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, and the Moscow government.

Russia is represented by 10 teams from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Samara, Perm, Nizhny Novgorod, Volgograd and Izhevsk. 

Only 1% of the participants in the qualifying rounds made it to the finals. The finalists will have to solve unique algorithmic problems within five hours. The team that completes the maximum number of tasks within the specified time frame will win the competition.
