The European Parliament ignores the texts of resolutions directed against violations of the rights of Russians, parliamentarian from Italy Francesca Donato told a TASS reporter.

The MEP noted that she and her colleagues are receiving data on discrimination against Russians in a number of European countries.  At the same time, attempts to condemn these cases at the level of the European Parliament are not crowned with success, since the EP does not pay attention to such petitions.

The MEP proposed to hold a round table discussion on this topic as part of the Friendship Festival, which opened in Ribera, Italy. She called for an end to the demonization of Russia.

Russian Consul General in Palermo Sergei Patronov, speaking at the event, criticized Western policies aimed at escalating the conflict instead of a diplomatic settlement.
