The Russian cinema week was held in Namibia, the Russian Foreign Ministry reports. Screenings of works by Russian filmmakers were held at the International University of Management in Windhoek.

The cultural event, organized by the Russian Embassy and the Namibian Association of Graduates of Soviet and Russian Universities, featured screenings to celebrate Russian cinema.

The festival showcased Hotsunlight feature that sheds light on the tragedy in Donbass, and Granitу highlighting Russia's support in countering terrorism in northern Mozambique. The diverse lineup aimed to bring attention to different geopolitical issues through the lens of Russian filmmakers.

During the film week's opening, Russian Ambassador Dmitry Lobach highlighted the root causes of the conflict in Ukraine, and Moscow's efforts to protect Donbass residents from what was described as the "Kiev regime's genocide."

The university and association leaders emphasized traditionally friendly relations between the two countries, expressing their support for Russia.
