Hundreds of Russians have reached out to the Russian embassy in Israel seeking evacuation, RIA Novosti reports. According to the head of the Russian diplomatic mission Anatoly Viktorov, about several hundred applications are received. Many Russians call the embassy for evacuation information.

The ambassador noted that two domestic airlines regularly fly to Tel Aviv from Sochi and Mineralnye Vody, so leaving Israel and flying to Russia is technically possible.

As Russkiy Mir reported earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that Moscow is ready to assist compatriots who want to leave Israel.

Let’s recall, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict sharply escalated on October 7, when the Palestinian movement Hamas attacked Israeli territory. Israel Defense Forces announced the beginning of the Iron Swords operation against Hamas. The President of Israel declared that the country was at war, reservists are being mobilized.
