Tarkovsky's Andrei Rublev to be screened at Venice Film Festival

The legendary "Andrey Rublev" by Andrei Tarkovsky, telling about the fate of the Russian icon painter, has been included in the program of the 80th Venice Film Festival. Viewers will also see a number of films with the participation of Russian actors, RIA Novosti reports.

"Andrei Rublev" was included in the special program of the festival, which includes the classics of world cinema that have undergone restoration. Within this category, the full version of the masterpiece, restored by the Andrei Tarkovsky International Institute, will be shown for the first time.

Out of competition, "The Palace" by the famous director Roman Polanski will be screened. The Russian actor Alexander Petrov starred in the film. Russian actress Ksenia Rappoport starred in another movie from this category, Italian "The Order of Time."

Last year, the special prize in Venice was won by the Russian-Kazakhstan film "Goliath" by Adilkhan Yerzhanov. The forum will last until September, 9.
